Winter Reading Challenge 2025 Guidelines
December 15, 2025 – January 15, 2026
Open to all ages; infants to adults.
Free to join. No library card required.
How to Participate
· Sign Up; Visit one Carbon County Library branch to register.
(Participants may only sign up and complete the challenge at a single branch.)
· Receive Your Reading Challenge Card
Cards are available for the following age groups:
Ages 0–3
Ages 4–6
Ages 7–9
Ages 10–12
Teens
Adults (18+)
· Read & Complete Your Card; Each card includes age-appropriate reading goals and activities.
What counts as reading?
· Physical Books
· eBooks
· Audiobooks (listening counts!)
· Books from home or other sources
What does not count?
· Magazines
· Articles
· Online Stories or fan fiction
Return Your Completed Card; Bring your fully completed card back to the same branch where you signed up.

Join the Challenge – Read 100 Books Before the Year Ends!
Have you ever wondered how many books you can read in a year? Take the challenge and read at least 100 books between January 1st and December 31st! This program is open to Teens & Adults—and you can join at any time during the year (just note that starting later means less time to complete the challenge).
