    Hours of operation

The Makerspace is open during regular library hours.

    Code of conduct

The Carbon County Library System provides free, open, and equal access to ideas and information to all members of the community. This code is designed to foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and courtesy and applies to all individuals while on library property. Behavior becomes unacceptable when it interferes with other persons’ use of the library, when it could result in injury to oneself or others, or when it could result in loss or damage to customer or library property.

While in the Makerspace, you are encouraged to:

    1. Ask the staff for help. Let us know when you are unable to use our equipment; Library staff aren’t experts on everything; however, they are there to help and learn things together.
    2. Inform the staff if you need an accommodation or if assistance is needed for your full use of library services.
    3. Be responsible for the conduct, safety, and well-being of children or other people in need of supervision that are in your care.
    4. Report disruptive behavior to staff immediately. (Unacceptable behavior is any behavior or activity that is unsafe, disrupts the library or Makerspace, disturbs or endangers the perpetrator or others, damages library property or the property of others, interferes with the library business, or is illegal. This includes any activity which results in damage or disruption of library equipment or services.)
    5. Cooperate with the requests of library staff.
    6. Clean up after yourself.

The Makerspace is reserved specifically for creating, inventing and learning. Patrons are welcome to use other areas in the Library to read, relax, or do other work not related to projects.

    Supervision

Users must be 18 years old OR supervised by a person of authority 18 years or older (parent, or legal guardian).

    Materials and Cost

The Makerspace equipment is free to use. Supplies are not limited to the ones provided by the library. Some materials are available for purchase to use with specific equipment in order to maintain the integrity of the machinery.

    Time Limit

The time limit is one hour for most pieces of equipment, but if no one is waiting to use the machine you may continue to use it.

    Maximum Capacity

Up to 8 people will be allowed in the area at one time. This could change based upon the activities in the space.

    Food and Beverages Consumption

Food or beverages are not allowed in the Makerspace

    Personal Devices Usage

Personal devices cannot be connected  to the Makerspace equipment. You may use the Library’s public computers  to create your designs for our existing equipment. The use of personal  Flash drives is allowed to load your designs to our equipment when  required.

    Reservations and Groups

The Makerspace can be booked by outside groups, not to exceed the maximum capacity.
